NORTHEAST REGIONAL  PRACTICE SESSION (FOK)

Note: This is a combined practice session uniting the prior New England and New York sessions.

Date: May 17-18, 2008  

Location: Francis S Gabreski Airport, Westhampton Beach (Long Island), NY

Hosted by: Robert Mark and Joseph Fischetti

FBO: Long Island Jet Center.  Fuel discount being arranged.  Huge runways, tower, restaurant on field.

Registration fee: $50.00.  All of the fee will be used on behalf of the registrants for food, drink, transportation, etc.  Refunds will be given for cancellations prior to May 1.  Registration may be limited by the number of safety pilots available vs. needed.

Registration: Please click on this registration link and complete a form.  This will enable us to make appropriate plans for the number of people planning to attend.

Motel: Budget Host East End Hotel in Riverhead: Seven double bed rooms reserved, $129/night (suggest sharing with other participants).  This is wedding season and motels sell out quickly on Long Island.  Reservations must be made by May 1.  Ask for rooms reserved under Robert Mark and at his rate.  Call (631) 727-6200.

The Northeast Formation Practice is scheduled for Saturday, May 17,18, 2008.
Arrival if staying overnight is May 16.

9:00 a.m. to10:00 a.m. Mandatory briefing
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Practice sessions with a break for lunch.
Sunday, May 6, 2007
8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Mandatory briefing
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Practice sessions with a break for lunch.
Format:
Saturday sessions will focus on formation take-off and landing and station-keeping.  Beginners will practice with a safety pilot.  Experienced pilots will re-qualify for B2Osh.  By the end of the day pilots should be comfortable in all phases of the flight requirements necessary for B2Osh.  If time permits progression to two-ship break and rejoin possible.

Sunday sessions will progress to break and rejoin, possible 4-ship training.


REQUIREMENTS: Dual rudder pedals, working intercom and  T-34 Formation Flight Manual; review TRAININGOn Your Own and the Waiver.

RECOMMENDED: "Formation Flying - The Art" video (available on loan from Northeast Bonanza Group library for members).
