The annual Florida BeechBum formation clinic will again take place the weekend before Sun 'n Fun.

The primary objective of this clinic is to prepare pilots for participation in the annual B2OSH mass arrival into Oshkosh.

New formation pilots will initially fly with safety pilots. The clinic will focus on 2-ship basics: formation takeoff, fingertip station-keeping, route formation, cross-unders, and formation landing. The Texas V-Tail 2025 Formation Practice will combine functions of the Advanced Clinic and the B2OSH level basic clinic within the overall time frame.

Thursday and Friday are for FFI cardholders or for those that are 4-ship proficient with the endorsement of an FFI cardholder that the pilot is qualified and ready for 4-ship advanced maneuvering.

This clinic will begin with Thursday evening attendance at one of three available ground schools: 2-ship Formation Fundamentals, Advanced Formation, or the Leadership Roundtable.

Friday will begin with a demo flight and 2-ship formation events for Formation Fundamentals students, and intro to advanced formation for our Advanced Formation students.

A B2OSH Training Event - Bonanza Formation Training Practice will focus on proficiency in 4-ship flying. Attending pilots must be proficient in 2-ship flying (able to maintain position in element take offs and landings, and able to maintain position in turns, climbs and descents). B2OSH meets in Lacrosse WI 2 days before the start of Oshkosh to fly our Bonanzas in a loose formation to Oshkosh. Bonanzas to Oshkosh began in 1990 when Wayne Collins and a few friends decided the only way to ensure camping together was to arrive together in formation. Wayne led Bonanzas to Oshkosh until 2001 when Elliott Schiffman took over the reins. Now, leadership has passed to Larry Gaines.
